The board of the Swedish Fencing Federation has established the following rules for participation in competitions organized in Sweden for citizens from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus:
Fencers representing the Russian Federation or the Republic of Belarus are only allowed to participate in fencing competitions in Sweden if they are holders of a valid competition license issued by the fencing federations of Sweden, Denmark, Norway or Finland and thereby are considered as residents of any of these countries.
Competition officials and coaches who are citizens of the Russian Federation or the Republic of Belarus are only allowed to participate in competitions organized in Sweden if they are permanent residents in either Sweden, Denmark, Norway or Finland.
No fencer is allowed to represent the Russian Federation or the Republic of Belarus but only his or her club in Sweden, Denmark, Norway or Finland.
Fencers are not allowed to fence with national logos or other signs of nationality for the Russian Federation or the Republic of Belarus. Nor is it allowed to show the flags or play the national anthems of these two countries in Swedish competitions.
These rules are not applicable for FIE or EFC competitions.
These rules can be changed due to sanctions imposed by the European Union or measures taken by national or international sport bodies.
