Candidate Statement
Every little girl should be able dream of becoming the World Champion, of becoming president of the FIE or of refereeing the final at the Olympic Games
I am running for the FIE Women and Fencing Council to contribute to a change towards a world of fencing with equality on the piste, in the clubs and on the boards.
My Contribution
My background is in the world of education and I have a long experience from working with change management to achieve gender equality and inclusion. I know that numbers are important but also that real equality is attained only by new attitudes and a change in organization culture.
Key Goals
The gender gap in fencing when it comes to leaders and sport officials, especially referees must be reduced and finally eliminated. In fencing, we also need more female coaches. We need to develop a routine for monitoring key indicators on gender gaps in assignments such as refereeing, DT, supervisors and other delegates and define targets and strategies that will allow us to work systematically to reduce the problem of gender gap.
