Candidate Statement
I am running for the FIE SEMI Committee to contribute to the safety and sustainability of fencing competitions and training.
I see the opportunity to combine my experience as a competitive fencer with my knowledge of technical solutions, having worked for over 35 years with innovation. I have experience in organising large events such as technical conferences on artificial intelligence and blockchain technology. As a board member of the Swedish Fencing Federation, I have a good overview of the interplay between technical, regulatory and financial requirements for running fencing competitions.
Having lived in a multitude of countries and always worked in an international environment, I enjoy the multi-cultural aspects of fencing and look forward to exchanging with SEMI members from across the world. During the pandemic, I followed the online workshops organised by the SEMI commission of the European Fencing Confederation.
My Contribution
I have an open attitude to new technical solutions and an eye for details while staying close to the reality of regulations and quality control as well as to what is reasonable from a financial point of view. I have a varied experience of process management and am keen to keep processes clear, efficient and reliable.
Improving Safety, Efficiency and Sustainability
Whereas my technical background is in materials sciences, I am also keen in contributing to the advances in digitalisation during fencing competitions and training, with the aim of improving the safety, efficiency and sustainability for the benefit of our fencing family.
